“Bootstrap Marketing and Advertising” Please respond to the following:

  • Using the Internet or Strayer databases, find three (3) examples of bootstrap marketing strategies. Next, develop a bootstrap marketing idea that will help promote a small business at a minimal expense. Be creative and thorough in developing the idea for this implementation.
  • Assume you have an advertising budget of $1,500 to invest in a campaign promoting an upcoming “sale” or special event for your business. Your target customers are 25- to 45-year-old individuals with higher-than-average disposable income. Explain where you would invest your advertising budget and how you would generate free publicity to extend your advertising budget.

1. Engage in community outreach as with flyers and posters.
2. Social media marketing to reach outside of the local community with online sales.
3. Email marketing.

The bootstrap marketing idea I would use to help promote my small business would be to engage in community outreach as I feel they are your biggest customers and would be your repeat customers on a regular basis. So you want to make sure that your community supports you and your business.

With a budget of $1,500 and my customer base is 25-45 year old individuals I would choose social media marketing as this general generation tends to use social media more and I feel I would get a bigger audience within that age group. I would also send out emails to my current customers along with flyers and posters for marketing.
